As I mentioned in my previous entry - an important issue for me is the Jewish Cemetery located at ul. Poniatowski. For me - it's not only an important object on Zatorzu, I am bound with him personally, by now a three-year collaboration with the Jewish community.

funeral home in Gliwice (Street Poniatowski 14) is located within the new Jewish cemetery. Celebration house dedication was held on 15 November 1903, with representatives of municipal authorities (mayor Mentzel, and the city councilors and Warlo Neuman). It is the imposing building was built and designed by renowned Viennese architect Max Fleischer.
Over the past 20 years, this beautiful building, from which we could be proud of today (and probably the envy of our other cities) were destroyed.
His condition can be seen in the film:

As I said in the material shot by Patrick Płuciennik, editor nGliwice.pl, listed only in the building tiles. It is interesting that 80% of the tiles is the original ... unfortunately some of them made one year after the repairs were eliminated, and give you back only to be thrown away ...
picture from the beginning of November 2010
At Monday's debate, I learned that the roof repairs cost 640 000 zł.
I am glad that the money is found - this feature requires urgent repair!
Only ... whether the money is not wasted?
Since falling from the roof tiles, since all the vertical gutters are stolen, when you can enter the building through windows, because the lock on one door can be opened with a single kick the shoe (the other is wide open!), Since no one sees this building - which for some time (perhaps 2 years) is owned by the city ...
my opinion - so it is ...
For me it is very sad.
At Monday's debate, Vice President, Mr. Adam Neumann said that the city is waiting for someone with an idea - what to do with the House of pre-burial ...
leave the reader of that post comment on this statement ...
seems to me that, after all, in the Municipal Office should work with competent people who should solve such problems ... Am I too much of an idealist, and he was wrong?
I have many ideas associated with this object ... only - why am I prompt officials to something for which they are responsible?
I know one thing:
We must prevent further devastation of the monument.
you like Jews, they can not like ... There is not the point!
Note the enormous contribution of Jewish Gliwice in the development of the Middle Ages to 1945.
We can not forget this and therefore we should celebrate our local history and prevent the devastation of this very historic building!
I would add that as one of the few in both the current Polish survived Kristallnacht and the World War II ...
For more than two years collaborating with the Jewish community - it is an excellent collaboration, which is why I'm surprised Mr. Adam Neumann's words, that the city can not agree with the Jews.
Or maybe the problem is not only the Jewish side of town?
When a half years ago in an unprotected house funeral, I found very dangerous chemicals left behind by workers remontujacych roof, I called the City Council or the current owner of the funeral house asking for urgent intervention. One worker said that it really is a question of ownership is probably the unregulated, so it's best if I called the head (the head fell out of my name), after What gave me the phone number.
called ...
After one hour, two people came, watch find, called the Fire Brigade, made a few pictures, no, and since then little has changed.
Then I learned that in this and similar cases had led many of the writings ...
Why is this so? Or maybe - so I think (I may be wrong, of course):
Does our city feels the owner of this object?
Well, if it feels responsible, at least for me, everything is clear ... I understand why as it is.
In my opinion - I say this, though I'm sorry, because as Schroedinger am glad that this object is located in Gliwice - but if it was in another city, the authorities of this city for sure time can use his charm to attract not only tourists but also to create a worthy memorial to its former residents - remember that, in certain time periods in Gliwice Jews constituted a community larger than even the Protestants.
I, in contrast to the officials, I have an idea of \u200b\u200bwhat to do with this "hot potato" and if you give me your trust by voting for me in Sunday's election, I will do everything possible not only to stop the devastation of the building, but also to restore its former glory.
